It's nearly all over now, any final thoughts

Look in all honesty Michael it's been awful
but there were a few moments that shone out
like when we returned to her Hackney tower block
after some mini Victoria Park festival
where we bumped into Ian Beard, star of another chapter
who introduced us to his loopy vegan companion
and who was forgive me insanely mad hippy hot
and where also do forgive me, I bought a kalimba (thumb piano)
the day was giddy with possibility

Something was smoked and we retired to the bedroom
13 or 14 floors high, this detail feels important
'Put some music on the radio if you like, it's digital'
I tuned in to Chill FM, free of
DJ chatter, ads, news etc and in a
break with their regular playlist the sonar
plinks of Pink Floyd's Echoes
began, and so we began and
by the time the song had ended
so had we I swear I wasn't timing it
and I'd like to nominate that as one of
the few moments worth living for
in this pathetic excuse for a life

<<applause>>
